Four Interviews

I have four interviews scheduled for today, which means I probably won't get any pages written. (Each interview is about an hour.)

Did two interviews yesterday and a page and a half. The day before saw about four pages written. It's coming along.

I also talked with my professor yesterday and think that I'm going to cut the page count. Two Hundred pages is just too much . . . I agree with him . . . finally. I'm going to shoot for 130 which means I'm over half way there. I want the story to be much tighter too.

He told me, you don't want the good, you want the great. I know that some days I've just been writing to fill a page allotment, which isn't all bad, but I need to also write for quality. I need to remember to write what will add to the theme, the middle thread that runs throughout the book.

If the book is 130 pages, it will also be an easier read.

Well, I just hope the press is still interested. They let me know they got it but I don't know what they think yet. Can't say this is the easiest thing, but it's definitely exciting and something that I want to see through to the end.
